How to Recycle Your Unwanted Old Gold

Many of us have old or unused pieces of jewelry that we don't know what to do with. Perhaps it is a ring, a necklace or a bracelet. Now you can recycle this old jewelry and get a store credit towards new eco-fabulous jewelry.

How does the process work?

The first step is to fill out an enrolment form. In the form you will find detailed instructions on how to send in your jewelry. Once your package is received a representative from Green ORO will contact you within 3-4 business days. The amount of store credit your items can earn will be disclosed to you at that time. You can choose to accept or reject the offer of Green ORO.

What if I want cash for my jewelry?

How much store credit can my jewelry earn?

The store credit you receive will be equivalent to 87% of the market value of the gold you have sent us. Remaining 13% will cover the cost of refining.

Will my store credit expire?

Yes, your store credit is good for 1 year.

What if I don't approve the store credit offer?

It is entirely up to you whether you want to accept the offer or not. In case the offer is not accepted by you, the merchandise will be returned back to you.

What is the best type of jewelry to send?

All gold items excluding gold filled and gold plated. Keep in mind that you will receive credit equivalent of the GOLD CONTENTS of the item, not the value of the finished jewelry product.

Can I send platinum piece for recycling?

Yes, but please call us at 713-789-7977 for an estimate.

Can I send silver piece for recycling?

Unfortunately, not at this time.

What happens to any gems set in the jewelry?
Since we are mostly looking for gold to recycle at this time you will likely not be offered a credit for gems, however we will be happy to return the gems to you for a $10 fee per gem (to cover the cost of removal) plus shipping fees. We cannot guarantee that your gem will not be broken while it is being removed, so if the gem is of value to you it is recommended to have the stone removed before sending the gold settings to Green ORO.
