HEADS turning wherever she goes is just one thing a woman will have to get used to as she goes about her business in Worcester for the next 21 days.

Because Kirsty Fraser has bravely taken on a challenge to wear a different eye-catching fancy dress costume every day to raise money for People in Motion.

Already, the youth worker has been a Geisha, Cat in the Hat and Harry Potter and she will also be going about her day dressed as MC Hammer, The Hulk and a giant pink gorilla.

People in Motion has been set up by members of the Refugee Solidarity - Herefordshire/Worcestershire to send volunteers and aid to people in need in the UK and overseas.

Ms Fraser, who has been provided with costumes free of charge from the Ultimate Party Shop, Angel Place, said the challenge had given her a chance to talk about the newly-formed organisation.

The 31-year-old from Malvern, who works for University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council, said: "I was trying to work out what people would be willing to sponsor me for when my mum suggested doing this and I thought it was ridiculous but also quite funny.

"I have always enjoyed wearing fancy dress but I don't think I thought this through very well because usually when you wear it you're going to a party and you're with other people dressed up so it is not as embarrassing.

"But I will be wearing these costumes all day, every day - just getting petrol has been fairly embarrassing.

"It is a good conversation starter though to make people aware of the work People in Motion hope to do."

Ms Fraser has already managed to raise £400 already and hopes to raise even more over the next three weeks.

"I've had a few strange looks and when I was dressed as Cat in the Hat people were in hysterics at university, I'd walk into offices and people were just laughing.

I'm not looking forward to some of the lycra-based costumes but I would like to say a huge thank you to the Ultimate Party Shop who have been really generous."
