Have the best homecoming. Be the perfect date

Boys have football, the Grand Prix and future stag nights to look forward to in their lives. Girls have weddings, hen dos, and oh yeah – homecoming!

Homecoming is a big deal for the female species, and if you don’t want to get in your date’s bad books, we think you’re going to want to listen to our advice very carefully. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned not taken care of at her homecoming.

Here are a few key tips to make sure you get as many brownie points as possible.

Pick your date up on time. Girls take a long time to get ready (doing prom hair and make-up is no easy task) but that doesn’t mean you should arrive at her house late. Make sure you get to her door on time; you don’t mind waiting for her to add the finishing touches to her look but it’s a whole different ball game if she’s left waiting for you.

Wear a tuxedo. Your date probably spent a lot of time, effort and money on her prom dress, so she wants to have an equally well-dressed person on her arm. You can’t go wrong with a tuxedo – make sure it fits you properly so go to a tailor if need be.

Arrive with flowers. Nothing makes a girl happier than flowers; if you arrive with a beautiful bouquet for her it will put her in a good mood for the whole night. Essential if you want to sneak a kiss later on in the evening. (For extra brownie points by her the perfect dress from a great selection of homecoming dresses over at Dress First).

Don’t be boring and dance. Girls love to dance – but not alone! You don’t have to be Patrick Swayze and do the iconic Dirty Dancing lift on the dance floor, but your date will expect you to throw some shapes with her. And there’s no getting out of a slow dance – there are no excuses!

….Lastly don’t forget to compliment your date. This final tip goes without saying but we thought we’d mention it just in case. Lots of “you look beautiful babe” and “I’m so lucky to have you on my arm”.

Now go forth and enjoy your prom!
