For the love of shoes

I spotted this Jet crystal bootie from Alexander McQueen's Spring 09 collection on style.com, and immediately thought of writing about it. Even if you don't suffer from a serious shoe fetish disorder like I do - and I have No shame at all - you'd have to admit that this bootie is a definite show stopper, a true conversation starter.

I usually reserve my posts for Fashion events, collections reviews, Designers interviews and other stories, but this time, in my quest for creations completely out of this world, I thought it be more than appropriate to pay homage to one of favourite Designer's work, especially when that work involves shoes.

For the love of shoes, I have walked miles in absolute discomfort, met strangers for a quick street snap-shot of their sole, made fortunate acquaintances which turned into valuable friendships, caught a man’s attention – or two - …but most importantly, I have always looked fabulous while doing it.

And Designers like McQueen remind me why I love them so much, because shoes to me, are more than just another part of my outfit, they’re my favourite allies, and with a pair of killer bootie like these, guess what type of mission I am on!
