Fashion Friday

What have we got in our closets for the weekend? Most of us have been working all week and haven’t really put much thought into what to wear. So we spend hours parading in front of the mirror trying to figure out what looks good.

I’m going to give you girls a few tips on what to wear and what not to wear this weekend to keep you looking cute and still warm for winter.

First of all, I have a simple and easy tip that will help tons when you’re trying to find an outfit. If there are a few things that you never wear but they live on the coat hanger or in your drawer, either throw it out or donate it. They cloud up your options and take up space that could be used for something fabulous that you love.

First of all, I will tell you all what not to wear this winter. If you own clothing of these types, get rid of them and make way for other clothes that could make up some really great outfits!

1-      If your piece of clothing looks like a bed spread or looks like it could’ve once been someone’s draw curtains, let it go. Either turn them into pyjamas so no one sees them or leave them alone. Trust me.

2-      If you can’t sit, stand or jump in them then they aren’t worth keeping. I’ve personally experienced this and trust me; it feels like your being crushed by beauty. Not worth it.

3-      If your clothes are from last decade, it is safe to say that they have had a good life and you can let them go.

After going through the ‘what not to wear’s we’ll move on to what you can and should definitely wear this Friday.

1-      Skinny jeans are at the top of the ‘must have’s this season so if you don’t have any, I suggest get some before you either freeze or are left out in the fashion world.

Skinny jeans are a big topic to cover so I’ll just run through the basics for now.

1. It’s all about proportion so wear a voluminous top or a fitted jacket with jeans.

2. Go with a dark wash, it goes well with anything and slims any figure.

3. Lastly, the best accessory to compliment with your jeans are a good pair of boots.

2-      The winter coat. The trench coats are definitely a must have for the weekend. Make sure you take yours out for a whiz. As well as keeping you warm, they’re super cosy. Can’t go wrong.

3-      Scarfs. You can not go wrong with a scarf. It’s simple. Keeps your neck warm (which usually keeps my entire body warm for some reason) and always works when you want to look cute.

Just some simple obvious tips-

Wear colours that contrast each other in a good way and stick to the theme. It doesn’t work when you look like a rainbow.

Never wear all black. It never works and you’ll look scary.

Always compliment a plain item with a patterned one. It’s a very simple tip that helps put a little colour or bounce into your outfit.

Follow my tips and you’ll look great when you go out. Have a good weekend!
