Last week, @FameAppeal tweeted out many pictures from a convention. The name of the particular convention that FameAppeal attended was the Sneaker Con Convention in Soho, New York City. One of FameAppeal’s associates was in attendance, while representing a new and up-and-coming brand, Chivalrous Culture, a brand that “mixes elements of refined style and represents them from the runway to the streets.” It was the first time Fame Appeal attended the Sneaker Con convention, but it was well worth it.
The Sneaker Con Convention was created by two brothers, Alan and Barris Vinogradov, and their partner Yu-Ming Wu. The Vinogradov brothers are founders of Gradient Magazine, a cultural and fashion publication distributed in New York City. They are also the founders of Osneaker.com, one of the few high-end sneaker resale sites on the Internet. Yu-Ming Wu runs a network of sneaker blog/sites full time — freshnessmag.com, freshnessguide.com, kicksfinder.com and sneakernews.com. According to a interview by The Hype BR, they came up with this idea because “they wanted to do an event that brings out the whole community. We want to see our friends and we want them to all get together, trade shoes, buy shoes, and we’re like, lets name is ‘Sneaker Con’ and lets do it in Soho.” This event could only be as successful as it is because of how much pride and understanding these three have for the sneaker culture. When talking to them, Fame Appeal could tell how much effort they have put in just to make sure that everyone who comes to the event enjoys the time they have.
