Designers - Is Your Supply Chain Toxic?

Hopefully you've noticed the good work by Greenpeace lately shining their global spotlight on the textile industry. In July, they published a report showing how two major textile dye factories in China were polluting the rivers and causing to disastrous water pollution.

China's waters are so polluted that as much as 50% of the fresh water supply isn't fit for drinking!

In a new report by Greenpeace, they've shown that dye houses around the world are using toxic, persistant chemicals. And these manufacturers are hired by major brands like Nike, H&M, Ralph Lauren and many others to produce clothing you're probably wearing.

We think it's important, indeed vital, that all designers and brands take a stand against toxins and implement Greenpeace's action plan. Nike and Puma have already begun the process, we're pleased to report. Hopefully others, large and small will quickly follow in their footsteps.

To the designers here on FIN, are you ensuring your supply chain is non-toxic?
