POPSUGAR Australia: How did you get your skin ready before the red carpet? Anna Bamford: I always make an extra effort with my skincare in the lead up to a big event. I use the ModelCo Exfoliating Cream Scrub ($20) and the ModelCo Instant Miracle Booster ($35) which makes my skin really glow! Then I always use ModelCo Rosehip Oil ($20) on my skin for hydration — it is amazing! For my body, I always exfoliate but on Thursday night I prepped my skin with a meduim self-tan and made sure I packed my ModelCo Tan Airbrush in a Can ($22) for a last minute bronzed glow. PS: What did you do to get your hair ready?  AB: I always take really good care of my hair but before leaving for Melbourne I got my hair coloured at Valonz in Sydney — they always do such a great job. I wanted to go quite blonde to contrast the dress so made sure I used a protein treatment on my hair leading up to the appointment so it was really nourished and strong. PS: What makeup and nail polish have you chosen for tonight? AB: Last year I kept my look quite pretty and innocent and this year I wanted to glam it up a bit and go for a sexier look. My dress is black so I didn't want to go for a bright red as I wanted it to blend instead of stand out so I thought a deep plum was the perfect colour. I wanted to go for a sexier edgier look so my makeup is going to be a bold lip, I'm wearing ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick in Purple Sangria ($18). Then I'll definitely be using a liquid eyeliner and ModelCo's Fibre Lash Mascara ($36) for a simple but striking eye. PS: How does your look work back with your dress? AB: My gown has quite a high cut neck so I've decided to wear my hair in some sort of up 'do to show off all of the dress . . . the dress is quite modern with clean lines so I want to keep my makeup modern with a statement lip.

PS: What essentials will you have in your red carpet clutch?

AB: Definitely my lipstick, my Logies ticket (I forgot mine last year and had to go back to my room to get it!) and my phone to get some snaps.

PS: Who’s your biggest red carpet beauty inspiration?

AB: Probably Cate Blanchett, or Sienna Miller. They can both do a very classic old Hollywood look but also a modern edgy look as well.

PS: What do you love/loathe about social media for red carpet events?

AB: I like that you get the chance to share with people your experience of the night and the preparation for the night also. It gives people a sneak peak of what goes on behind the scenes at an event like this. I kind of loathe selfies though! I've never really been able to take one that I feel ok about putting up but maybe tonight that will change.
