Don’t we all love the high end designer bags swinging by our arms? We would scour the internet and various market places to fetch that one beloved bag from handbags online sale. For women, bags are their world and so invariably, we strive to invest in a good one that can last for a good considerable time.
Ideally, a person can go to the boutiques or department stores of their favourite brand; whether it is Coach, Chanel or a Louis Vuitton woman’s shoulder bag! But there are many people who are always on a lookout for bargains, so they prefer shopping online, thus capitalizing on the online discounts or buying designer items from consignment or flea and pop up sales.
However, buying online or at markets is a gamble in itself. You never know if the designer bag is actually a real one or a cheap knock off. The counterfeit markets have grown exponentially over the year and are frightening us by some of their meticulous imitations.
Wrong spellings: This one’s the easiest way to spot a fake. In a collection of such bogus bags, you would often come across errors in the spellings. Louis Vuitton may be written with missing letter – S or N in the end. Be wary and check the brand’s spellings on the printed canvas of the bag inside out.
Holograms: All bags may come with authenticity cards, but that isn’t a given for a true product. The forged bags would have inconsistencies like the wrong font size, fake looking symbol stickers in corners.
Workmanship: Workmanship really makes the difference. A real bag stitching will obviously be perfect. But a fake one’s would have signs of loose threads, erratic stitching at different ends that would be enough to garner attention.
Colours and materials: Not all bags are made of leather. In the enormous counterfeit market, the bags’ canvases are primarily coated with leather trim. It would be dry. On the contrary, the real bags would have a different feel to it when you touch it. Colours too may vary. A shade up and down is very common to spot.
