From the annoying ones to the cute ones, the strange ones to the quiet ones, there is a vast array of couples who you'll come across in your lifetime. You might not have met them all as of now, but along the way, you'll make acquaintances and friends who quite nicely fit into some of these categories.

1. The Newbies

These two have only been together for a matter of weeks, and they're already planning out their entire life together. She'll tell you how many kids they're planning to have, while he'll explain the type of house they hope to buy. To their faces, you'll tell them it's great how comfortable and close they have become already, but deep down you don't believe they'll ever work out in the long run.

2. The Committed Ones

Commitment to one another is a wonderful thing, but is there a boundary that can be crossed? We hear little of people being “too committed” and lots about partners who simply “aren't committed enough”. Most of your friends in a relationship will be committed to their partners, but you'll come across the ones who seem to be way over the line. They won't come to parties without their other half, and they won't so much as look at another person or talk about a hot celebrity.

3. The Loved-Up Ones

You'll have seen these everywhere already, but you might not yet have friends who tend to go overboard with PDA. You can spot these a mile off, with their fingers interlocked or their arms wrapped tightly around each other. One of them need only go to the bar for a drink and they're saying their passionate goodbyes in front of the whole party.

4. The One-Sided Ones

You'll meet couples along the way who have a relationship which is so obviously one-sided to everybody else, yet they can't see it themselves. Having a close friend in this type of relationship can be tough, since you'll want to mention it without interfering in their personal affairs. If you ever meet a couple where one person always seems to wait on the other person hand and foot, you're witnessing the one-sided couple.

5. The Downhill Ones

It's a shame for these couples, since they set out with every intention of making their relationship work. However, fate had other plans, and it never did go to plan, no matter how hard they seemed they try. You'll hear the tragic stories of their increasingly poor sex lives and how one of them is never served breakfast in bed anymore, and the day they break up will come as no surprise to anyone.

6. The Pretty Ones

Here's the couple who is the envy of all their friends and everyone else around them. He's gorgeous, she's stunning, and everyone secretly wishes they were part of that couple. Their relationship doesn't always go perfectly, which is surprising to other couples, who believe their relationship would be Cupid's dream if they had a partner with those looks.
