I am a fasion studies graduate recently completing my course with a fond love for childrenswear fashion in clothing and accessories with design. I also love print which I have used on my final project created at university and showcased on my graduate fashion show at derby where I studied which proved very popular. I have very strong CAD skills which I have used to create design developments, final boards, moodboards, and graphic prints for childrens clohing. My clothing has a new edge to designing with creating work with the inspiration of shapes recognisable to children as children are taught educationally throughout their school years. The shapes are used from the construction, applique and even shapes used within the print to add a different perspective on designing for kids wear. I also demonstrate a love for colour within my print work as children are attracted to bright colours and it also makes the designs fun and interesting to look at.
Fashion Industry Experience
May 2010- I completed 4 weeks worth of work experience in a fashion botique selecting out designer clothing which would be suitable to be sold in the shop, merchandising with expereince of styling the shop to suit the available space and window dressing the mannequins, I was also responsible for sales and looking after the shop.
September 2010 - I have experience working voluntaritly with my university lecturers along side a few other students as a team setting up a fashion t-shirt pod customising plain t-shirts to become fun and intersting using different materials. This job involved working under a very fast paced pressurised environment which was completed successfully as a team.
June 2008- I assisted a third year fashion student designing and creating accessories for her collection for the graduate fashion show 2008. At the fashion show I worked backstage along side another student dressing a model which we were appointed ensuring that everything fit her correctly a swapping around any nescessairy clothing and shoes with other models to allow the show to be a success. This was a very fast paced and pressurised working environment which was done succesfully.

Various trends are a must this year including the 1970's which has played a large inspiration within my own work with the print and drapery, flower head pieces and the 'peace' symbol is also a very popular design choice for designers with spring/summer 2011, 1950's is also very inspiring for designers this year along with applique, laser cutting (on high-end childrenswear), butterfly inspirations with sequins and embellishments.
