Hi, I saw your post about learning patternmaking. I teach patternmaking, draping, computer aided design and seven other fashion classes. I recommend the Helen Joseph Armstrong boo Patternmaking for Fashion Design, fourth or fifth edition. I would start with Helen's sloper pattern in the back of the book. Make many copies and then start to read in the beginning but then start to work your way through her book in the chapter on Dart Manipulation. You can then keep working through the book and as you improve go back to the early chapter and teach yourself how to draft the skirt sloper, then go to the pant draft (much further back in the book), then go back to the beginning for the bodice draft. Finally draft your sleeve... you can do it. I am self taught and I know it can be done. Also, feel free to check my blog that I keep for my college students and other interested fashion people. The links list is long and wonderful. Good luck and keep in touch to let me know how things are going. Trish
