Cassie... First thing first, you need to go to cosmetology school. That will give you the foundation to work almost anywhere. Next, you should find someone in your area that does what you are looking to do. Ask them to be your mentor. Tell them that you are interested in their work and that you would love to tag along and assist them. Usually, if you are willing to assist them on projects for free, most people are open to it. I chose people in the industry that I thought could teach me something. I didnt stick to hairdressers and make up artists though. I wanted to know how to run a business, how to be successful. I chose people that were good at what they do and applied their skills to my own life. Take notes!
