  • Hi Boo, How are you? just dropping by to say hello!! How was London Fashion week, I was so busy here that I did not get to follow it as I would like to. I was creating my website. Check it out www.bascboutique.com let me know what you think. Now I'm busy expanding the business. Do you know any boutiques in London that might be interested in selling my line? How is the area where you work at? Is there a lot of fashionistas? Talk to you soon Gisele
  • Ok Bo thanks very much.
  • Thanks for comment Bo.

Myself and a colleague are behine the site - we know how to build general traffic and feel that specialist contributors like you can (if you like the site) really become leaders in areas such as fashion, based on the fact you add the best products and get thumbs up from general users who are look for advice and ideas.

There is quite a lot to the site in terms of social networking - it could be an interesting few weeks as we attract people like yourselves to be the real gurus in your main areas of interest.

Let me know what you think, if you need any help or have any thoughts.

    Cheers now. Wayne
  • Hello Bo

You might want to check out http:///www.tribesmart.com - it's a social shopping/product discovery site.

We are looking for people to add interesting products (easily done via a browser button) and add reviews comments and blog posts.

We're not in fashion, we run a web agency - however we think this website could be a good platform for new designers, brands and writers to build their profile.

There is also a facebook widget, which feeds products to a facebook tab on your profile page if you choose to use it. It means you can add products and build awareness as well as invite friends to comment on your posts.

Anyway that's enough from me and good luck.

    Thanks

    Wayne
  • Hi Bo, How are you?
I just found out that you left me a message on your wall. you could always go to my profile page and add a comment on my wall. I'll be glad if you do so, I check it all the time. I've been very busy lately. Not easy to wear many hats at the same time. I thought about passing by just to say hello. How is your research on the retro 50s style? i will talk to you soon
  • Gisele, I believe we have a long way to go. But in a way I am not the right person to ask. I have not done any research in the supbject.

To the next subject. Perhaps I should compare the meaning of 'fashionable' and 'trend'? Isn't it two words for the same thing? What do you think will be hot next summer? Will the retro still rule? I believe so because many people are feeling security in it. It's like music. Talk to you later.
  • i don't think we are 100% eco friendly yet, but we are a work in progress. It takes time to go back on track after living in such abundance. Now changing the subject, fashion covers everything that has to do with apparel and style, trends are what people are wearing during a short period of time. More like what's hot in the next season. What people will be inclined to buy. Let me know what you think. talk to u later
  • Hey Gisele,
You have not made it easy for me now. I have to admit that I agree with you. My issue is how some museum curators treat fashion. I agree 100% that fashion represents society at a certain period in time. I would like to add, 'for a certain group'.
What is important when dispaying and thinking fashion is to see it in the correct context.

How much do we actually go eco-friendly? I wrote a paper about it. Our ancestors way was the most eco-friendly ever. I am not sure how amazed future generations will be? I do not know very much how eco-friendly we are? Do you?
  • Hey Bo, Thanks for the add. I think fashion is art, they walk hand in hand all the time. While some Oscar dresses are breathtaking, pure wearable art, I believe that fashion represents society life at a certain period in time. For example, the "Poiret: King of Fashion" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York showed that his designs modernized women's wear at the 20th century, eliminating the corset and giving women confortable and beautiful clothes. It was a huge step in fashion. It is great to see how the apparel industry evolves so much in so little time. As for our fashion footprints, there's so much going on right now and all the eco-friendly awareness our future generations will be amazed at how much we adapted to change our way of living to save the Earth. What do you think?
  • I saw a message you left for Gisele on her page. You stated, "Do you regard fashion as art? I mean fashion is something to be displayed in museums as art or as something that has been part of our ancestor's society. As dress historian I believe in the latter. I want to change the way museums display fashion." I thought you might be interested in an article that I posted recently on Apparel Search regarding fashion and art. Arts Influence on Fashion
