Cloud Vs On-premises PLM

Here is the deal, I work for a fashion tech company, who are in the business of Fashion PLM software. I hear a lot of customer stories and testimonies. So I thought I would share some anecdotes. Ask for opinions and see what other people think, and conduct a little Survey/Focus group research.

When it comes to PLM, businesses seem to have a preference for Cloud. The reasons I heard the most are: Less investment, saving costs related to housing, and maintaining used servers. Faster implementation time since you don't need to install servers. Remote access and automatic updates. In short lot less hassle-free setup!

On the other hand, people who want greater control prefer the on-premise PLM. People prefer physical security also along with firewalls, VPNs, and whatnot. Wanting to keep all data in-house with 100% data security. Though this increases the cost and nowadays the PLM providers themselves take care of all sorts of security.

Which of these advantages is the most important according to you? Which would you prefer: Cloud or on-premise PLM and why?
