Thousands of swimwear and swimwear accessory retailers, merchandisers, boutique owners, press, and industry VIP’s will flock to the Miami Beach Convention Center this July to get a sneak peak at what’s next from the world’s most adored designers and renowned brands. For anyone in the business of creating or selling poolside or seaside apparel, SwimShow 2012 is undoubtedly the “must attend” trade event of the year!

This 29th Annual, four-day trade show is considered the swimwear industry’s biggest, best, and most established annual exhibition. Last year, over 7,500 people attended the event in hot pursuit of the most coveted swimwear styles. SwimShow 2012 is the premier resource for buyers from all swimwear categories, and caters to designer boutiques, resort shops, specialty stores, surf shops, department stores, mass merchants and more.

Over 350 vendors representing nearly 2,000 lines from every corner of the world will be showcasing their latest styles. Participating brands include such iconic women’s, men’s, and children’s swimwear companies as Milly Shoshanna, Roidal, Manuel Canovas, Seafolly, Jets, Despi, Delfina, Maryan Mehlhorn, Luli Fama, Heidi Klein, Lenny, Natori, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Pull In, Parke & Ronen, Body Glove, Emamo, Sundek, and many, many more.

According to Rosanna Lara, designer of the popular Salinas line, “Last year’s show was great. SwimShow is so well organized and has such nice brands, that it is mandatory for all buyers to be there. We increased our appointments for the show by 60% just from the steady flow of traffic by our booth.” “We had back-to-back appointments and worked non-stop,” agreed Kristi Steinfeld, a sales rep for L*Space.

To better serve its customers, lingerie will debut at SwimShow this year. Such major lines as Empreinte, Anita, Andres Sarda, Body Wrap, Maidenform, RITRATTI Milano, Touche, Desigual, Hello Kitty Sleepwear, Marie Meili, and 2(x)ist will all be showcased. Adding lingerie effectively gives the SwimShow buyers an opportunity to source more product. In addition to lingerie, exhibit visitors can peruse the ever-diverse category of swimwear accessories, including bags, hats, sandals, and coverups.

Swimwear for men and children will also be exhibited. Men’s swimwear took the leading spotlight last season with a robust 20% gain in sales. More manufacturers were showing larger selections of smaller briefs and taking advantage of the resurgence in the men’s market. The children’s category also did exceptionally well as more and more “mom consumers” enjoy keeping their kids fashionable. This category is aided by the ongoing consumer need for new children’s swimwear due to the natural wear and tear that younger children generate on their swimwear and by virtue of their normal growth.

Other events taking place around the show are the highly anticipated runway presentation which offers a sneak peak of every participating designer collection and is a must for anyone wanting to keep a finger on the pulse of where the industry is heading.

This year, SwimShow has again partnered with Miami Beach Convention Authority to offer increased access to the endless possibilities of South Beach with negotiated rates at a range of hotels, complimentary transportation, and an onsite concierge. Full of activity, events and shopping, South Beach has an amazing synergy with the swimwear industry as a premier resort destination with designer boutiques, world-class hotels, five-star dining, beautiful beaches, and captivating nightlife.
