Style.com came out with their "Ten Ways to Freshen Up Your Wardrobe Come Spring", written by Nicole Phelps, to put potentially arising trends into focus. The title of this look is what first caught my attention as it was, "The New Length" and immediately, when I see the word new, I am captured. As I continued to read the description, the new length was again referred to as a challenging length for woman, which could quickly turn a majority of women away…

Took a picture of my neighbor who looked shockingly sharp with his red and blue pinstripe, left untucked, and his subtle shoes for a casual yet classy look.

Free City opened their new Supermat store in Hollywood, Ca on Highland. Creativity is an understatement when defining their idea and creation of brick and mortar retailing. Art creates their atmosphere making the merchandise only part of the reason to walk in. Not only is this brilliant in attracting your target market during an economic crisis, but also in the sense that it provides an experience for shoppers. They…

Not only have woman began to dress the part of a lady, but now have simultaneously been able to wear the pants in the relationship as well. As Marc Jacobs introduced the 3 piece suit in his Fall 2010 line, the ensemble has made its comeback. Just because more woman are continuing to go back to work, does not mean they can't look fabulous while doing…

Crystal Renn, a size 10 model, who once had been photoshopped to ensure that her body was not present in the Chanel ad for its 2010 Soho opening, now proves she will not take a hit without hitting back when she walks down the Chanel runway during Paris Fashion Weeks 2010. Renn, who has overcome her own eating disorder, knows…

The line as been crossed. Either you are accepting of the fact that most, not all, but most models are too thin, that girls pick apart their bodies because they may have shape and are not a straight line, and that the view on what makes a woman a woman has been skewed because we are all striving to look like 10 year old boys. The extreme diets and in some cases eating disorders are all trying…

The previews of Spring 2011 continue to anticipate us for the future season. The runway for me is one of my most influential inspirations. Show after show I pick and choose what I think will conquer the fashion market. Prophetical designers such as Prada, etc. guide the way into future trends that are one step ahead of even some of the other 2011 designers. For…

As the fabulous and wonderful Style.com celebrates their 10th anniversary, they brought the 10 biggest headlines in fashion, as well as other 10 tens from the past decade. Luisel Ramos, in 2006 unfortunately became one of these headlines after dying of a heart attack while weighing less than 100 lbs. It was because of this that questions regarding the serious health issue effecting models were raised. Reconsideration started to take place, but a complete…

i believe that the industry has got to turn away from the restrictive size 0, and finally it seems to be happening.
fall 2010 is gearing up for a very feminine, well groomed return to lady like looks.
Of course the entire silhouette has changed, and accessories and hair will follow.
i really would like to see models look healthier again.
about a year ago, walking on 7th avenue, i saw a young model with a portfolio,
obviously on her way to appointments.
she was so painfully thin.
no exageration, her thigh was the size of my forearm.
yes, we all have different body types, but there is natural body type and extreme dieted body type. i think also to turn things around the industry will recognise and change it, which will boost sales at the retail level.
best wishes,
maryanne
