As New Yorkers, we’re no strangers to zero privacy. Our apartment wallsare paper-thin and sometimes morning rush hour subway makes us feel likewe’re in a toothpaste tube, but we put up with it for the sake ofliving in this mad, wonderful city of ours. However, there are somethings that can get a bit too close for comfort— and they come from themost unexpected source. Many resort to online shoppingbecause it guarantees privacy and, we assume, no judgment by nosycashiers or pushy salespeople. We expect to have our purchasinginformation kept private and anonymous. However, most online retailerscan track your information quite easily including what you looked at,how long you spent looking at it, and what you actually ended up buyingand use it for statistical data. Scary, right?

Well, seeing as we’re already peering over America’s shoulder, we might as well find out what these stats tell us.
