Trees are essential for people and animals, both as producers of oxygen and as stores of carbon. They also provide as shelters for many beings, providing food and shade and enhance our surroundings. But trees not only offer countless forest and green area benefits. Wood is an essential raw material and a vital aspect of the packaging industry. Wood is transformed into a range of items in various sectors of our everyday lives. Below you will find out everything you need to know about how paper manufacturing works and what which packaging material is environmentally friendly.
How is paper produced?
Paper is wood - widely known. Paper is made of wood. But you know how it was? Wood is broken down into distinct fibers in water in so-called digestion. Then dry to make wool on the sieve. This is how paper was produced thousands of years ago.
Today, paper continues to be made as it was thousands of years ago - barely devoid of contemporary technology. The resultant paper wool is processed further today. Drain, pump, press and dry wool, and remove moisture and add natural minerals (additives) to the desired product. Varied varieties of paper, suitable for printing, surface structure and rip strength, are made with different colours. Paper, carton and board are thus utilized. The weight of the three groups differs largely in grams per square metre. Din 6730 is split by gram weight of paper and board into the following:
Block: 7 - 225 g / m2.
Carton: 226 g / m2.
Waste paper is converted into fibers called secondary fibers for recycled items. They are turned into paper, carton or carton using the indicated processes.
Which one is more sustainable - Brown or white paper?
Anyone thinking about ecology and sustainable packaging will immediately consider the picture of brown bags, carton boxes and cups. But the sustainability of white paper is not worse than brown, it is a myth. Both papers are composed of sustainable, recyclable wood raw materials! Whether the paper is brown or white depends on its bleaching. Bleaching paper fibers, however, does not waste more resources, and both product hues may be recycled equally. This allows you to pick items that match your own tastes, or purchase the same two-color items such as paper bags "enjoy."

Paper, carton and board goods for your sector
Other packaging may be built of wood and different kinds of paper for the food sector and transit. They vary a lot in their qualities. Take note of the stuff you need to pack and learn about the most crucial factors for selecting a package. Whether it is takeover, baking or logistics - an overview of our goods may be found here.
Dry goods paper grade
Uncoated silk or kraft paper is extremely good for dry grain transport. Fine tissues less than 30g/m2 are typically used to wrap or protect delicate items. Kraft paper is a form of strong, smooth, velvet-like packing paper, so its hand feels pleasant. This is especially useful for folding bags such as paper packaging, handbags and paper bags for counters for fruits and vegetables. In transporting goods, it's a sustainable technique to safeguard things from recycled waste paper (such as newspapers and printing trash) and gray waste paper formed of unprocessed recycled waste paper.
Oil-resistant and sturdy paper - strong and adaptable for your business
The dish is frequently hot and fatty, and packaged with oil-resistant paper or oil-resistant paper. For this reason, Kraft paper and tissue paper may also be utilized if it has a coating. Parchment paper alternatives are also acceptable as an alternative to these coating types. Also called petroleum resistant paper, it is great for snack bags, bakers or cone bags. Smooth parchment paper is food safe and may prevent the rapid immersion of lean baked items. Oilproof grazin paper is another step forward. It is used to convey rip resistant and solid flat bags for glazing, frying, and fat baking snacks in or in the food business.
Cardboard — the paper Almighty
In addition to paper, the dinnerware is particularly ideal for numerous types of packing. Cardboard is constructed of many layers of paper that may be coated as thick paper. The paint layer facilitates the printing of the surface. For the food industry, pastry trays, drinks and ice cream cups, as well as suitcases, chocolate boxes and hamburgers boxes are made of cardboard. Cardboard is processed into bigger and bigger boxes and is then loaded and transported in logistics and industries.
Cardboard - wave stability or not
The strongest material made of paper is cardboard. In the process of production, several nonwoven fabrics are bonded and pressed together to form a very stable material thicker than paper. Cakes and cups for soup and drinks and paper trays for catering are preferably made of cardboard. Wood, cardboard and cardboard have also become indispensable in industry. Corrugated board, for example, is very suitable for sustainable transport packaging, such as cardboard boxes, foldable boxes and mailer boxes, but also for stable containers and packaging of some products. Corrugated board made of corrugated paper is especially stable, shock absorption and reliable protection of your goods. Corrugated paper made of recycled material is located between two smooth exterior ceilings. The thicker the outer ceiling, the more solid the cardboard is. In addition, corrugated board is divided into one layer, two layers and three layers of cardboard, which depends on how many layers overlap each other. The following applies: the more layers, the more stable the cardboard is.
Do you know, can you tell from inside the box whether it is made of 100% of the original fiber or recycled material? To do this, tear a little bit and look at the color of the middle layer: darker gray fibers represent waste paper. In the food field, the following applies: only cardboard packaging made of fresh fiber is suitable for greasy and humid dishes, even without coating.
