What’s “Wow” Right Now!

8858642270?profile=originalMen’s haircuts and hair styles are always being updated. Are you up to date on the current and hottest hair trends for men of all ages? If not, read on to find out what kinds of styles you should describe to your stylist and if they will look great with your unique facial features.

1.       The 90’s Cut

No, the “mushroom” head look is not what is hot, but a version of it is! Take a cue from star, Ryan Gosling; who is growing his straight strands out on top and keeping his sides super short. Instead of parting his hair right down the middle, he is gently slicking a few strands up and back, or even over to one side. It’s a great way for men who have stick straight hair to wear their hair if they want a longer look without getting in their faces.

 2.       The Mad Man

The epic show may finally be coming to an end, but their sixties and seventies’ hairstyles are sticking around for a while. If you are in the market for something “new,” ask your stylist to cut your sides close and short; and keep the top of your hair short but long enough to do a slick, side part, trimmed and rounded to perfection. This sculpted look looks great on business men, dads, and has a sophistication to it so it will even look extremely dapper at a special event or work function.

 3.       The Modified Spike

Spiky hair was all the range in the eighties and nineties. Many men today are spiking their hair up, but are taking on a modified version (but are still using lots of gel and hairspray!). Have your stylist shave the sides of your head and keep the top pieces long, allowing you to form one giant point at the front of your forehead. You can even change it up and sculpt a more rounded “spike” that shows off all the layers and a lot of texture in your ‘do.

 4.       The Wave

Just in time for summer and perfect for the beach; the wave is a popular men’s hairstyle for men of all ages. Simply keep the sides high and tight, and the top strands ultra-long. Then, using styling products structure the hair up and off to the side, on a downward angle, forming what looks like a loose and rolling wave. Be sure to spray hair into place for some added hold and to use a purifying shampoo once a week to rid hair of all your styling product build up.

 5.       The Boardwalk Empire

The HBO hit has brought back a lot of old fashions and hairstyles. One of them involves slicking hair to the side and cutting in a well-defined line on the scalp and keeping the sides shaved and short. Men have a lot of options with this look. They can slick hair up and over, creating a messy wash and wear look without using a lot of product. Or, they can pull and gel the hair forward and downward, for a more dapper ‘do. They can also comb it off to the side and apply some pomade to really play up the texture of the carved style.

Men have many options when it comes to styling their hair. Consider one of the five mentioned above so you can sport an in style “style” this summer!
