I’m not lying when I say this but I literally walked into a thrift store and withinthe first 30 seconds I had these 3.1 Phillip Lim white slacks in thetight grip of my hands. True story…. I couldn’t believe that in myhands were a pair of white Phillip Limslacks, I have never seen or found this brand before inside a thriftstore. Every major luxurious high end department store represents thisguys brilliant creations. Phillip Lim was born in Thailand, in 1973 toChinese immigrants who fled to California to escape Cambodia’s civilwar. During a weekend job at Barneys in Beverly Hills, Lim had a careerepiphany. Despite not knowing what a portfolio was, he got himself anintership Katayone Adeli and eventually through his innate talent andtenacity, a position with her design team. At 31 Lim launched his mostpersonal collection to date and debuted his eponymous brand 3.1 PhillipLim in 2005 to instant success, both critically and commercially. 3.1Phillip Lim’s raison d’etre is providing an approachable designerexperience with beautiful everyday classics accented with touches ofmadness. The result: cool, easy, chic looks for men and women thatembody youthful elegance and personal style – has won the brand cultstatus in the contemporary fashion world. So you can see why I wasoverwhelmingly stunned by this discovery. As if it couldn’t get anybetter I snatched this gorgeous orange cotton Trina Turk blouse. Trina Turkhas recently added printed fabric collection for the home with thevenerable home furnishings manufacture Schumacher, and Trina Turkresidential products include rugs, pillows and tabletop textiles. Thiswoman is on a fashion mission and I love that about her. This ensembleis simple and elegant, tasteful and modern and most importantly superchic.
