Top Swimwear Trends for 2013

With the arrival of summer, it is finally time to sizzle in the sun... wearing only the hottest swim fashions, of course! This year offers a wide variety of swimwear styles to cater to any and every style personality out there, all of which will surely get you noticed while spending those hazy summer days at the beach, lake and pool.

Pretty Pastels
Pastels are the “in” colors for swimsuits this year, with shades of blue, green, pink, and yellow dominating the pack for both one-piece and two-piece swimsuits. Whether it is a halter one piece, a bikini, or a tankini, these soft shades offer women a more feminine beach look. Mint green is one of the most popular pastel shades of 2013, conjuring up images of a seafoam beach scene on an island vacation.

Have Fun with Fringe
Fun fringe swimwear is everywhere this summer season—on dresses, tops, skirts, and of course, swimwear! Fringe on bikini tops can make a chest look a bit larger than it actually is, while fringes on bottoms can help camouflage the hips and give a woman more confidence. One-piece suits are also featuring fringe detailing along the bust, bottom, and sides. Regardless of your color preference, fringe embellished swimsuits can be seen in all of the season's hottest hues.

Print Mania
Without a doubt, bold prints have made a definite comeback this summer, with striking geometric shapes that attract the eye and engage the mind. In addition, mismatched prints on bikini tops and bottoms are also trending, featuring contrasting stripes, polka dots, floral motifs and more. Digital technology has also made its way into the swimsuit world, with silk screens of photographs giving a whole new look to one-piece and two-piece suits. From sleek city scenes to warm summer sunsets, digital prints offer a unique look to a definite summer fashion staple.

Monokini Fever
Although they've been around for awhile, monokini swimsuits are becoming increasingly popular this year.  They allow the wearer to show off their figure without revealing all. With side cutouts varying in both shape and size, most of the midriff is "as bare as you dare."  If you can't decide between a one-piece or a two-piece silhouette, the monokini trend is right up your alley.

Swimsuits may be made for dips in the water, but they've become fashion statements unto themselves.  While classic looks are always available, variations on these looks become new trends each season. What swimwear trend are you loving this season?
