The Model Birthday Party

Which of your birthday parties do you remember the most?

If you are reading this then you are likely of an age where you either have a child, or are thinking about having one. If you have one, then you’ll be aware of the stresses and pleasures that come with organising and having a birthday party involving perhaps dozens of little people, not dissimilar to a child modelling audition. Keeping track on them throughout the event can be tiring and it’s good to have a friend or another parent or two to help out. No kids’ birthday party comes to an end without at least one child getting upset by another, or someone banging their head or knee whilst running around. Some kids might pull their piece of cake apart, eat the jam from the middle, and leave the rest. Others might take the cheese off their pizza because they only like the bready bit. Kids are funny and all have whims. Any child modelling photographer will tell you that. One thing that you can get right though is goodie bags. These can get expensive when you multiply everything by 10 but it’s a fantastic way to show the other parents that their kids had a good day when they bring something imaginative home with them. Also, they might have been looking for ideas for their own kids birthday bags!

Here are two great ideas for party bags that aren’t too unrealistic nor expensive.

The first idea is quite ecological, and very economical. Take a normal brown paper bag, buy some seeds or bulbs from a garden centre and hand write some instructions for the child to follow. Add in a piece of cake, a thank you note or some sweets, and decorate the bags with some ribbon. Perhaps you could write each child’s name on the bag so it looks more personalised, too. They’ll take them home and end up growing a plant in their own time, perhaps sparking a new interest or hobby.

What is your kid’s favourite book? Do you think their friends might also like it? This can get expensive if there are a lot of kids, but a few paperbacks won’t break the bank. Choose something like their favourite fairy tale and buy a few copies. Throw in a little glitter and some chocolate bars and it’ll look a bit more magical. Try transparent netting bags for a great effect with the glitter.
