One of today’s most popular methods of obtaining a tan is with an airbrush. While you may want to join the growing trend and experience this firsthand, there are some things that you need to know ahead of time. Follow these steps to achieve the best possible result:
Be sure to take care of all beauty treatments that require soaking, scrubbing, or would cause any interference with the top layer of your skin, like waxing, before your airbrush appointment. By not doing so, you could cause your tan to be blotchy or streaked.
Exfoliation is Vital
Exfoliate the day before, especially in the areas that are typically rough or hard such as your elbows, hands and ankles. Use a mild form of soap and water with a natural loofah. Special exfoliating products are not always required.

Shaving Is a No-No
If you choose to shave the day of your appointment, you must be sure to avoid razors with a gel strip and refrain from using any oily products such as foaming gels, or creams etc. Those types of substances will create a barrier on the skin and interfere with your tan application.
Make Sure You Are All Natural
When arriving for your spray tan, come with clean, dry skin that is makeup free. If you arrive with any of these things on, be sure to let the technician know so you can remove prior to spraying.
Wait for It - Processing Required Time
Most airbrush tans require an 8 hour period to develop. Express tans are now quite popular and allow you to rinse in 1 to 4 hours, depending on how dark you’d like to go. Be sure to consult with your airbrush technician to see which is right for you.
