Sunday's Lagniappe - Looking for Spring

Funny how the simplest things make us happy.  Take for example, today the sun came out, the snow has been melting and it was absolutely delicious to wear only a heavy sweater sans hat, scarf and gloves.  Yes, the weather has made me absolutely chipper and thinking of Spring with smiling cream and yellow daffodils, easter egg colored tulips and my favorite, orchid blossoms. Sigh.

For me, and I'm sure for most of you, Spring also means less clothing. No, I'm not talking of joining a nudist colony or anything crazy of that nature.  I simply mean we can put away the jackets and other paraphernalia and say "thanks for the warmth. see you next year same season." With regret, we ponder our next problem, when to start putting away our comfy jackets, sweaters and blankets. Yet, our eyes keep secretly saying hello to our Spring clothes sitting cheerily at the back of the closet.

Some of you either started  the week being happy or just annoyed.  What most can not deny is you celebrated in some way; whether, it was sending e-flowers and love texts to yourself, eating all the chocolate you wanted without feeling guilty or like me, my favorite shade of roses and dinner with my family. In addition to the sweetness and love, Valentine's Day was my marker for the coming of literally brighter days, since the sun would feel hot again soon (or that is my philosophical hope every year).

So now my focus is on the season my 4 year old is desperately looking forward to so she can ride her bike with out the trainers. And yes, Spring is so much more fun to contemplate and explore.  New fashions take shape, the clothing color palette comes out of the dark and the accessories scene explodes.

So, what little tidbits does Know Boutique think you must have for your upcoming Spring, here goes:

- A Tube top or a one-shouldered dress, fitted or flowing  as our examples below:

- Chunky bracelets or necklaces depending on your neckline

- Striped Tops

- Platform sandals/Stacked Espadrilles (I saw some in New York that so wanted me to take them home..., alas I have to wait a bit since snow is still in our forecast)

- Color scheme: the usual pastels but  look out for a light lavender, believe it or not a darker mint green, and a daffodil yellow from multiple designers

Spring will be here soon enough. And to coin a phrase from one of my favorite chefs, Are you ready for a Spring throw down? Until next week.
