With summer fast approaching and all the spring sales popping up, it is prime time to think about what the fashion world has in store for us this season. This year’s trends seem to be a mix of a little bit of everything: a new swimsuit trend, a reoccurring fashion choice from a previous decade, several details that we will be seeing all over and a few wacky looks. Seems like we are in for an interesting summer:
1. Nude swimsuits
A trend that has tried to integrate itself into the fashion world before is finally getting the spotlight. Nude swimsuits are in, and they are a wonderful mix of unusual and attractive. This might not be for everyone, since different patterns and colors are often used to visually alter the shape of someone’s body, but with body positivity moving forward every day, we might be seeing a lot of nude colors at the beach.

As we said, there is a bit of an unusual trend going on, and that is deconstructed shirts. Imagine a button down, but without one sleeve, or without a collar, or even with a big cut-out on the back. They are more evening attire than in-office clothing, since many of them are a bit revealing, but we definitely encourage you to try out this trend when it hits the shelves.
3. Ruffles
Yet another season, yet another reason for all the ruffle lovers to rejoice. Ruffles have been ruling the fashion world for seasons on end, and the trend can just not be stopped. And what’s not to love? The simple details adds so much to the table, without overpowering the rest of the look, so you can wear it and feel cute without looking childish.
4. Rompers
We just can’t let go of the one-pieces. It’s understandable: you get the feeling of wearing a dress, without the fear of the wind messing up your night, and it is just so convenient not to have to think about a matching outfit. You can find an amazing variety of rompers, playsuits and quality jumpsuits online that you won’t even miss the dresses. Now the only thing left to think about are the shoes.
5. Florals
We are not talking about your standard subtle floral you wear to your aunt’s wedding. We are talking big. Head-to-toe bold floral print on half of your summer attire – and people seem to be loving it! So with the year being all about trying out bold new things and breaking the mould, you might want to invest in a few floral pieces. And trust me, they will not be one bit difficult to find.
6. Cold shoulder everything
This has, by far, been the biggest trend of the past several seasons, and it looks like it is going to become this season’s most wanted as well. T-shirts, dresses, playsuits, swimsuits – you name it, the fashion world has got it, and it will reveal your shoulders. There is something unbelievably attractive in showing just a small part of skin on your shoulder, even if you are otherwise completely covered, so for some people who don’t like showing too much skin, this is probably the perfect trend.
Whether you are going to be spending your summer on Coachella, the local beach, a remote island or just doing your day job, now you know what the fashion world will have in store. Don’t forget your hat and sunglasses to complete the look, and a few pairs of comfortable sandals to keep you going.
