One of the reasons I chose to work as a personal stylist is because I know how challenging it can be to survive and thrive in today’s world.  Coming from New York City, I’ve seen all types of competition and how stressful it can be to try and make our mark in society.  In a down moment, it can seem like someone else is always faster, smarter, richer, thinner, luckier or has it easier.  Too often, we compare ourselves to others and judge them.  On the outside, they may appear to have it all, and we make these assumptions based on their clothes, body language, and appearance.  However, we should acknowledge that we are acting on limited information.  Often, someone’s story is much more complicated than we had assumed.

Not too long ago, I was judged by others at a time in my life where I needed support, and it felt terrible.  I was starting to incorporate more fashion, confidence, and joy into my life, but it became an indicator to my “friends” how I wasn’t like them anymore.  I suffered a huge sense of loss and despair, and for a while I wasn’t sure what my next step would be.  However, as I was processing the pain and trying to move on, I realized that we all need connection, support, and people we can trust, and that fashion should never be an excuse to judge or be judged.

Now, as a personal stylist, I offer an open mind, a giving heart, and a sense of quality, creativity, and sincerity to all my clients.  Since I’ve been on the receiving end of judgement, I try to create a space where assumptions, questions, and doubts can be aired in the open.  My clients sense my excitement and creativity, and the magic happens when we find the clothes that speak to them and showcase the best of who they are.  When styling is done thoughtfully and well, a client’s personality, confidence, and charisma shines through.  The clothes are simply a beautiful covering to an even brighter spirit, and there is more love inside and out
