Step out in Style this Navratri

Navratri, nine nights of shining and dancing, is just round the corner. The festival of Navratri which is dedicated to the worship of our Goddess Devi Durga Mata, is yet all about dancing Garba.  Also known as dandiya-raas, it is the native dance of Gujarat.  It is celebrated with much fanfare, especially in western part of India.

And what makes Navratri vibrant and multi- hued is the colorful outfits that adorn the women as well as the men. Navratri is one of the most beautiful festivals in India, which is celebrated all over.

Apart from the auspiciousness of the festival, it is not a surprise to find a lot of young girls dressing up their best for these nine auspicious nights. Hectic shopping of purchasing clothes and accessories, the mood is always buoyant.

During Navratri, every one adorns themselves in vibrant chaniyacholis or even gorgeous salwars, not to forget those jaw dropping accessories.  Added to that flaunting a Maa Durga pendant will give it just the right touch of authenticity of the occasion.

Let us take a look at some of the best fashion trends this Navratri and see what we can try out, in order to celebrate this festival in gay and joyful mood.

Go Desi with Twist:

Go completely Indian and Traditional: Looking traditional is a great way to feel connected to the spirit of the festival.

Even if it is the traditional dandiyaraas night, you can get a little edgy.  Have you tried going beyond a vibrantly colourful ghagaracholi.  Yes, give your chaniya different twist.  Add a kamarpatta to the waist and flaunt that flat tattoed stomach.  Wear glistening stoned sandals or mojris.

Have you tried lengenga with a half saree, like it is worn by Deepika Padukone in “Chennai Express”. It is also easy to wear and to dance in. LehengaChic: There are beautiful options you can choose from when it comes to selecting a lehenga

Finally, do try a hipster saree.  Wear the saree below your belly button.  Wear a metal belt around your waist.  For a style like this you must of course be slim and trim. Go for the Indian look, but with anjhakaas twist.

Top it up with accessories. Go antique. Wear a diamond pendant of Durga Shakti to add power to your get up.

If you want to start a fashion trend for Navratri, go western.  Fuse a jean and sexy top designed from your mother’s old gold saree.  Play with colors. Go neon shades and dazzle everyone.  Navratri is all about colours and gaiety.  Wear a dhoti salwar to look unique.  Don’t forget those payals.

Combining the right accessories with your outfit is sure to bring you under the spotlight. Wear Aashna diamond earrings or Elena diamond earrings.  Bhagyasri diamond jhumki with your traditional outfit…how perfect is that.

Combine chandelier earrings, bunch colourful bangles.  Even maang tikkas can be worn to add an unconventional twist.

So go quick glam, go swanky…after all the night is all yours.
