Simple Mehndi Design For Kids

Well, mehndi is not just for adults but also for kids. Kids love weddings and small girls just love doing what their mother does- applying mehndi! Those little hands look adorable with the mehndi and the red colour comes out really well on their hands. But there’s just a few problems in this!

Mehndi requires patience and time which kids just don't have. It takes time to dry up and meanwhile if the kids are playing, they can paint the whole place with mehndi. So what is the solution? Here’s a solution! There are special designs that are created for kids which dry up quickly, are easy and fast to make and look very elegant as well. Wow! what more could you ask for, right? The mehndi designs for kids are not elaborate and detailed but small and sweet. One such design is this!

This design is also known as the mobile mehndi design. The reason why it is called this is the positioning of the design. The design is made on the corner of the palm in a triangular fashion so that whenever someone holds their phone to the ear, the design is visible. It looks very stylish. This design is apt for kids as it does not involve too much of time or effort. The design can be made within 5 minutes and you can add another 5 minutes to it for drying. Thats all it takes! Not only are your kids happy but so are you as there is no mess and no dirtying the clothes.

Mehndi designs for kids generally are like this one. They are small motifs made at different corners of the hands. A lot of kid mehndi designs also have cute cartoon characters such as mickey mouse or tweety. Little girls love sunflowers, butterflies and stars made in their hands and they truly look apt on their hands. The best part about mehndi is that there are no hard and fast rules. You can create anything and everything under the sun and it would look good. But there are a few precautions one can take while applying mehndi to kids such as:

  • Making sure that they are not wearing white.

  • Their hands are clean and neat.

  • They don't move much while applying mehndi as this can spoil the design.

  • They wait for 5 minutes for the design to dry up before they start playing.

  • They keep their hands away from walls and materials.

  • They don't take their hands in their mouth. The mehndi does not have any side effect but a lot of oils and chemicals are added in professional mehndi mixtures which are not edible.

  • Ask them to avoid playing in water as water can stop the dye from showing up its actual colour.

That’s it!

So, the next time your baby girl cries about getting mehndi done on her hands, just go ahead and get this design made on her cute, little hands!
