Scott Barrie.

I’m always so happy to add another Scott Barrie into my collection for DOUBLETAKE - my high end consignment store in Atlanta.  Scott Barrie isn’t one of those names that everyone that walks intoDOUBLETAKE recognizes unfortunately but he was a big fashion designer back in the 60s & 70s.  He was one of the first African-American designers to earn fame in internationally fashion.  He was over the top huge back in the day, he was in the same category as Stephen Burrows and Willi Smith.  They all were trailblazers.  We live in the age where anyone that even lives in a cave knows the labels such as Chanel, Hermes, Dior & YSL but there are a huge amount of talented fashion designers that fly under the radar even today.  That’s where I come in handy because I’m always looking for those obscure designers that should never be forgotten.  This LBD is beyond sexy and I’ve added this black suede studded belt, made in Italy for Lord & Taylor, to jazz it up some…  This Scott Barrie dress isn’t a dress you will find at your local mall, no ma’am, it’s a treasure you will only find at upscale consignment boutiques and in museum’s collections.  I’m Daniel Troppy your vintage luxury curator and I hope you have enjoyed learning some history about the very talented Scott Barrie…
