Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Theory’s co-founder and president Andrew Rosen had planned to buy Proenza Schouler from the European private equity fund Permira. Like any executive worthhis salt, Rosen quickly denied the gossip. Sources, however, are nowsaying something is definitely going on between Rosen and ProenzaSchouler. According to WWD,Permira is looking to cash its investment and Theory could be one ofits options. There’s no doubt that Theory is a brand with a lot ofearning potential, particularly considering the general acclaimsurrounding Olivier Theysken's recently previewed capsule line for the combination retail chain and High-Street brand.
