Pros and Cons of a Summer Wedding

Now that summers are here, it is time for us to talk about something that burdens the mind of many and that is wedding ceremonies in the summer. It sounds like a hassle and probably will not fit with many people’s philosophy, but here are some of the pros and cons that can help you decide if you really wish to have a summer wedding or are willing to wait for a couple of months to have a winter wedding instead.

Pros:

  • Clear skies is something that probably every bride would want on her wedding considering that it her special day and she wouldn’t want her thunder to be taken by the real thunder or so cold a weather that it becomes hard to survive without a warmer.

  • Flowers are a big part of Indian weddings- whether it is about the varmala or the decor. That is why there should be no dearth of flowers. Summer is the time when there is no shortage of flowers, and when maximum amount of flowers are produced. The availability of flowers and a variety of them is important. Some of the most commonly used types are shades of asiatic lily, sunflowers, zinnia, orchids, chrysanthemums, delphinium, etc.

  • Women can easily explore options like backless blouses, skimpier clothes in summers when they are opting for a readymade lehenga choli because of how hot it can get in Indian summer. While they may be able to do the same while braving the freezing weather, it is always an option more feasible when the weather is hotter and the air is more forgiving.

  • People are usually freer during the summers because of the schools having long summer vacations. This means that more people would be willing to make time out and share with you your special day because of people would have a less burdening schedule during the summers.

Cons:

  • Because summers are so unforgiving, it is important for us to realise that you have to set a portion of your budget to make arrangements for tents and shady areas for guests. If there is a reception at night, you need to make arrangements for coolers and fans that will give the guests a respite from the unforgiving heat.

  • Because india has humid summers, you might want to consider getting a venue that is closed and has air conditioning in it. If the event is in the day, no one would really enjoy being in the heat and thus it is incredibly important for you to have a room dedicated for those guests tired of it.

  • There are chances of the food getting spoilt and the flowers wilting way before everything has even been setup properly. In order to avoid that, you need to make arrangements in such a manner that it all remains fresh and appealing throughout the event.

You can buy party wear salwar suits but you have to make sure that they are designed according to the unforgiving weather of the summer.
