Prom is just around the corner and being in the fashion industry, I get to see all of the latest styles and trends in advance! 2013 is going to a "beautiful" year filled with so many flashback moments in fashion (especially if you went to prom in the 80's!) These are a few of the top trends in prom gowns for the upcoming year:
1) The Sweetheart Neckline- Remember the heart shaped top of decades ago? Well they have made a comeback and in a big way! This staple of eighties dresswear is an extremely flattering look for the thinner, straight waisted gals. It requires a little tape up top to ensure that the dress won't fall, but is a very simple and sweet fad for teens this prom year.
2) Lace- Is EVERYWHERE! Another throwback, specifically in white and black. If it will hold still, there will be lace on everything next year. Ala: Madonna, the lace craze is gorgeous on the fitted gowns and mermaid gowns.
3) Matching with Your Man- A little cheezy, but oh so adorable. If you can talk your guy into matching colors with your dress (just the bow tie and vest!) then your pics will look perfect for prom!
Just go for what you love and remember, no one knows your style better than you!
