There is Mexican legend behind gifting Poinsettia. It is said that a young Mexican was very poor and was sad because she could not afford to buy a gift to offer to Christ on Christmas Eve. She recalled the words that God happily accepts all gifts that you offer him. So on the way to the Church, she plucked some weeds growing wild on the side of the road. These weeds bloomed into exotic green and red flowers on being brought into the Church. This made everyone present in the Church that they had just witnessed a miracle.

2.Holly
