DESIGNER RESALE BOUTIQUEDifferent type of resale. Below I have highlighted why the store is unique/ one of a kind compared to other resale shops. What makes DRB different?➢ Refreshments: wine, juice, treats➢ Sandlewood-scented showroom➢ High to moderate designer labels➢ Chandeliers and wooden hangers➢ Personal shopping and styling services➢ Manicure/Pedicure servicesArt gallery: Local designers are promoted throughout the store. The walls are covered with amazing work. The work is available for purchase. A silent auction is in discussion.·Melissa’s styling. Melissa has a strong history in fashion. Melissa learned how to wardrobe style from Patricia Field, worked for Jill Stuart, & E! Entertainment. She is able to create any & several ensembles, which will showcase how resale items can be restyled into the latest fashions. We will photograph these to showcase in feature articles.Manicure/Pedicure. These services are provided for an easy and relaxing environment. Manicures and pedicures including polish changes and paraffin wax treatments.Blog (dresaleb.blogspot.com). We have created a blog where we write stories about why people consign their items to our shop. They are funny blogs and reveal everything but the names of the innocent ….or the guilty!Online. While we are not selling online yet, we can feature items online or people can call in and buy for blog items. Selling online is currently under consideration.Owner: Amy KeelyAmy’s Story. I lost my job from a Fortune 500 company just as the market crashed in 2008. Unlike others, I was able to find work after four months but making considerably less than before. This means that I now have four jobs to make ends meet. I am a director of sales and marketing, adjunct professor at Walsh College, business owner and mystery shopper. In addition, I am working on my second masters of education to complement the MBA I achieved in 2005. I graduated from UofM and attended school at Cambridge University. I really would prefer to stay behind the scenes but if this story is of interest to the media, then it can be used.Targeted AudienceThese are the audiences that we will be targeting to educate about our shop including consignments and our art gallery.Business ProfessionalsWe need to target large businesses in the local area. Because they have higher disposable income, employees need to be provided information on consigning or shopping. We can offer them discounts on items in the store or on manis/pedis as an employee benefit. We can also offer them a special 50/50 split on items cosigned which is different than our 60/40 split. Some may allow us to set up a “booth” in their lunch room or lobby where we can sell items.Universities StudentsCollege students can shop for discounts and consign for extra cash. They also have the opportunity to win a fashion make over. Designer resale is also a way to get interview suits or new business clothes at a fraction of the cost.High School StudentsThese are kids with disposable income and who like to shop. Their parents are willing to provide them with money to buy or they may have summer jobs.MothersWe carry kids designer clothes so, because kids grow fast, it is a way for them to buy designer and when their kids grow out of it, they can consign it again. Also, we carry true designer labels that are hard to find in the United States. We buy from Europe and the UK. Labels include such names as Burberry, Roberto Cavalli, Baby Dior, Betsey Johnson, Gap, Levis, Carter, Disney, Polo, Hilfiger, etc.Gay and Lesbian CommunitiesTo our knowledge and what we have been told, Ferndale has a large gay and lesbian community that can be tapped into. There is a G&L chamber of commerce (not ready to join yet) but we can create a member benefit of discounts)Film Entertainment CompaniesSince a lot more films are produced in Michigan, we have a rental program where they can rent clothes or we can shop for specific clothes for their shoots. We are working with S3 Communications but need to expand further.Local Retail BusinessesWe need to approach local retail business to referrals. Some shops (like Chrome in Royal Oak) are high-end but have clients that approach them about getting rid of old clothes. They will promote us to their clients as a place to take items for consignment. We have received several clients and consigners from Chrome. There are a lot more opportunities to get referralsPromotional and PR Methods & TacticsANY TYPE OF PROMOTIONAL HELP IS APPRECIATED, I WILL NOT COMPLAIN!Above are POSITIONS to detail what positions we can offer them that might be attractive and of interest.National Magazines. We should push local designers as a way to get featured in national fashion magazines. We have talented clothing and accessory designers. In addition, because we carry current and vintage designer labels, we are bringing designer fashion to those on a budget. We are a bright fashion house in the middle of the economically hard hit Detroit area.Local Schools and Universities: Fashion ShowsSchools, especially groups and sporting teams, are looking for ways to raise money. We are willing to support fashion shows that students may want to have to raise money. We would ask for a small portion of the ticket sales. We would provide the clothes, style them and MC the event. We can also provide local makeup artists.Media Cocktail PartyI would like to host a cocktail party. We would provide a media kit, wine and appetizers, models in re-stylized resale items. We could get some notable fashion names as well as people from film companies to attend. People that other people would like to meet and talk to such as local news anchors, business leaders, etc.Charitable EventsWe would like to support local charities by either hosting silent art auctions, pet adoptions, fashion shows, selling tickets to raise money (we have the Am. Cancer Society “feet” on our windows. We need to target agencies to co-promote our respective businesses.Flyers, Posters & Website LinksWe have flyers and posters that we can provide businesses that are willing to promote us and we will carry their promotional materials. We will also mention their names, and provide a link on our website. Please let me know if you would like to help be a part of this unique store and help us promote.Networking EventsWe are a member of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce. There are many events that they host that are great networking opportunities. I am also a member of several LinkedIN groups that have networking events that we need to attend.Bars and NightclubsWe can create a promotional flyer we can hand out as well as have a sign up sheet for those interested in more information. We are currently working on partnering with DJs and promoters.Express StoresWe will be setting up express stores where we bring a sampling of clothing to an area and we can sell the items.Styling Educational SeminarsCelebrity stylist, Melissa Bouchard will be conducting styling classes in the store. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn how to dress for any occasion. For example, job interviews in various industries, how to use what they have in their closet, how to dress their age, but most of all how to put together an outfit that fits and looks amazing.Store RentalAnyone can rent out the store by the hour! Anything appropriate is allowed. Such as local ladies parties. We provide drinks and Hor D’ourves, make up artists, massages, mani/pedi’s and more. They can shop the store in privacy. Great for bookclubs, Rotary clubs, fitness groups, etc.Special Promotional OffersWe can use any of these offers as ways to attract clients and consigners to the store.Student DiscountWe have a student discount card that they can use. They just need to provide a school id to obtain. They get 15% off after five full price purchases.Refer a FriendReceive 5% off one item for each referral that purchases an item at the shop. Limit 15 coupons.Frequent BuyerIf you purchase 10 items you’ll get 20% off your eleventh item.10 Non designers for 10% offReceive 10% off an item if you bring in 10 non-designer items to be donated.Manicure offers could be:· $5 off a manicure or pedicure with a in store purchase (with coupon & purchase must be same day)· Free manicure with the purchase of a pedicure at full price (limit 1 per person)· Refer a friend who gets a mani/pedi and receive 50% OFF your next appointment· Get 10 manicures or pedicures and get the 11th manicure freeArtist PromotionsWe are always looking for new artists as we rotate every six months. Many people know artists so we ask them to send in samples of their work. We need to interview them and their work. If we can’t list them in the store, we can also put them on the website.
