Oh So Tangy, Tangerine!

8842909087?profile=originalThat's So New YorkA rule which use to be almost fact among every fashionista within the industry is that only people with dark complexions could pull off bright-colors, yet I can confirm that this is entirely untrue. The undertones of tanned skin or even darker skinned people seem to create a sexy yet appealing contrast to colors which pop off of the fabric including multiple contrasts of teal, hot pink and 'oh so hot' tangerine! Tangerine and its well-known relating orange brothers and sisters has been said to be THE color forSpring/Summer 2011, therefore it was with utmost gratification that I introduce it as the one color which is suitable for almost anyone during the warmer spring/summer months. You will see people of all colors, from the pale-faced recluse to the sun-kissed starlet wearing something resembling the tangy tangerine hue. Tangerine is one color which has been introduced to both out spring/summer and fall/winter catwalks, therefore if you go for tangerine this spring, you can be assured that you will be able to drag them dainty fruit-inspired palettes out the wardrobe later this year.

Punch up the color a little more this season by pairing a classic deep-tangerine with ocean blue, distressed jeans and white strappy sandals for the ladies or tan leather sandals for the guys. Don’t want to over do it? If you’re wearing a tangerine top, tone it down with black linens, flowy black skirts, or black skinnies. You could even have the best of both worlds—create a sassy and subtle look by wearing a splash of tangerine, think bracelets, scarves, shoes or nail polish. It can be all about accessories when it comes to this particular color as it is preferred in small-doses scattered around the outfit, creating an inspiring look with minimal effort. Also be sure not to forget that Tangerine has also made its way into our 'Top 10 Beauty Trends' of this season, therefore grab some tangerine lipstick, perch yourself in front of a full-length mirror and apply thickly; there is no doubt you will be looking catwalk-ready in minutes.
