No more stress please!

Monday is here and I wonder...where did my weekend go? I feel so stressed, so overworked and so exhausted! All I want to do is sit by the beach, have a pina colada for breakfast and tan all morning long. For lunch I want to sip some bubbly while shopping for my Sex and The City 2 premier party and for dinner cocktails with the hubby....aaah if only life was this good...Instead I'm having diet cereal and a flat orange juice with no bubbles, sitting in front of the computer answering all the e-mails I got over the weekend from my workaholic colleagues...fun fun fun...NOT!Stress...always growing and now faster than ever is taking over our lives. Between the old lady driving in front of me at 20 MPH, my boss sending 10,000 urgent emails a day and the neighbor drilling the wall at 8 AM it is no wonder I'm a total b***h by the end of the day...sorry hun!So I have decided to take measures into my own hands (don't worry I'm not going to hurt anyone) and find ways to decompress and fight stress...and considering that this week is "Mom Week" I'm sure there are one or two moms in the crowd who will really appreciate this tips:1 - Bubbles and more bubbles - This is a classic but always goody. Turn your bathroom into a spa by lighting up come candles, filling the tub with warm water and lots of bubbles. Read your Cosmo, play some music and forget about the chaos going on outside. Ask your hubby to take care of the kids...he will surely appreciate your relaxed mood once you are done ;-)2 - Give Yourself a Rubdown - Two tennis balls in a tube sock is all you need for a DIY deep-tissue massage. Kristy Yazzi, a massage therapist at Canyon Ranch wellness center in Tucson, Arizona, tells us how: Lie down on the floor or in bed and place it under your lower back with the balls positioned on each side of your spine. Using a slow, continuous movement, roll your body back and forth (toward your head and then toward your feet), letting the tennis balls knead your muscles3 - Pump Up Your iPod - Since music affects your mood (and heart rate and brain waves and dance moves), create a playlist of songs that demand you have a good time and let it all out, like Meredith Brook's “Bitch" (a personal favorite), Bon Jovi's “It's my life” and pretty much anything by Madonna.I know you're probably thinking you don't have the time and there are too many things going on but if that is the case...girlfriend you need it bad! Come on try one or two or come up with your own it’s time to give yourself some TLC—and don’t be stingy about it. “There’s a huge difference between self-care and selfishness,” explains psychologist Dan Baker, PhD, author of What Happy Women Know. “If you can’t be good with yourself, then you can’t be your best with others.”So remember, the next time you’re feeling all bitched out, simply close your eyes, take a deep breath and transcend...At least until the next e-mail arrives and the neighbor starts drilling again like a madman.XOXOThe Style Hunter
