I was enjoying myself one day at a festival when in the corner of my eye I spotted this pattern, which reminded me of Gucci, so I walked in & out of her booth with this vintage 80′s Ruth Norman caftan.  Yes a festival not a thrift store or estate sale but a good old fashion festival, so the moral of this story is always keep your eyes open for STYLISH designs everywhere you go in life.  Ruth Norman was a brand that designed women’s leisurewear, namely caftans, loose-fitting dresses, 2 piece outfits consisting of pants, shorts, blouses & shirts, loungewear and robes.  This caftan was done for Neiman Marcus in the 80′s and to me looks just as hot & fabulous.  Everywoman should have an entire arsenal of vintage caftans in her closet.  Vintage caftans are extremely collectible and rightfully so, I’ve seen them range in price from $350-2,100.  Caftans have been said to have originated from the Mesopotamia & Asia Minor regions in 600 BC. So yes caftans have been around for thousands of years and in my humble opinion will be around for many more centuries just as long as humans don’t F*ck it up as RuPaulfamously says….
