Models Casting..

While we wave goodbye to Fashion Week for a while, the models who rocked the runways are already moving on to their next jobs. We take a look at how they prepare for castings and what they do to ensure that they wow everyone and land the job. We’ve got some hot insider details that we’re sure our models will love to hear more about.

8843457259?profile=originalWe’ve all heard about those lucky individuals who take the express route to fame, finding their big break through being scouted. Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss and Adriana Lima are some of the lucky few and seem to have been in the right place at the right time. But for most, even the runway elite, becoming a model requires gruelling hard work and follows a routine path.

Getting signed by an agency is the first step, from which models can work their way to bigger agencies and more prestigious jobs. Once a girl is signed with a big agency such as Storm, IMG, Elite or DNA, she is sent on “go-sees.” During Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris, Milan and London, a model can be sent on as many as a dozen go-sees a day for six weeks.

When this kicks off, they need to be ready for the storm. Their itinerary will be packed from morning to night, and is likely to change frequently. Models are often found attached to their phones, waiting for updates from their booker about which castings to attend. It’s crucial that models are able to juggle appointments and make split-second decisions about which ones are most important to keep.
