Sometimes, fashion is weird—those Maison Martin Margiela “hair dresses”, Giles Deacon’s Pacman helmets, everything Richie Rich has done ever. According to a study by the International Trade Union Confederation, 101 apparel workers and union leaders fighting for their rights in places like Columbia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and other nations lost their lives to strike breakers and management-backed enforcers—a 30% rise over 2008’s casualties.
