Gianni Versace animal print sweater….

My eyes really peeked up when I saw this Gianni Versace label inside this animal print sweater and when my partner Mitch saw it he grabbed it for himself…  I have no idea if this sweater was designed for men or women but at the end of the day who really gives a shit?  It’s a unisex sweater in my opinion so when Mitch grabbed it and ran off with it I was ok with it…  Who doesn’t want to wear vintage Gianni Versace anyways?  I can think of no-one!  Doing research for this blog posting I Googled Gi

Bill Blass 70′s 2 piece black velvet….

Recently I was just at the  Indianapolis Museum of Art to see “An American Legacy: Norell, Blass, Halston & Sprouse” exhibition and to say it blew me away would be putting that mildly.  Bill Blass is American Royalty and finding vintage Blass is Royal alright!  I couldn’t believe my luck when I scored this velvet cropped jacket & skirt by legendary Bill Blass, it’s so fresh and modern as the day it was first designed.  VintageBlass NEVER ever goes out of STYLE and if you see his goods in a major

This is just one of the many perks I get while I’m out thrifting for my clients and that is finding ME some luxury goodies… This black Ermenegildo Zegna v- neck tee shirt was brand new and I know this from the look & feel of the fabric as well as that “new” scent.  Love this Italian men’s fashion brand and I’m lucky enough to have salvaged plenty of it throughout my thrifting days…  When you see this label out thrifting GET IT for your boyfriend, dad or yes yourself!  This brand is sold exclusiv

Just how frigging HOT is this blog posting of a vintage 80′s Chanel blouse with pearl buttons and a black Thierry Mugler vintage skirt???  It’s so damn HOT I can’t even see straight (but I don’t see anything straight)….  The Chanel vintage blouse came out of one thrift store and the Mugler skirt from another but all on the same day so that just tells me that the GODS wanted me to unite these 2 French super powers.  I don’t know what anyone can say Chanel that anyone hasn’t already blabbed about

I promise I’m not going to verbally assault the Olsen twins anymore…  From here on out I promise to behave myself and I will try very hard not to berate them in my blog….  The reason I scold them is because of their overuse of FUR….  I hate FUR with the strength of 1,000 suns and that’s really saying something.  So from here on out I will do my best to be civilized when I talk about any Elizabeth & James pieces I find while thrifting.  I love plaid to begin with and when you pair it with this Tr

I think velvet might just be the new “black” or is that the new “pink” who can remember???  This is my second item I have recently found in  a thrift store and believe me I’m happy as happy can be.  Who doesn’t love velvet especially when the label says Karl Lagerfeld???  I can’t think of a single living being on this planet that wouldn’t be pleased as punch to find Lagerfeld.  Yes I love Louis Feraud otherwise I wouldn’t snatch it up every time I see it in the thrift stores, it’s a French class

This Escada 80′s blouse with it’s ever so subtle pattern is an instant classic.  Who gives a rat’s $#% if this Escada blouse was created last season or 2 decades ago?  No one does so just throw that empty thought right out the window…  I’m always blown away when I hear people say in my boutique (Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique) “oh that pattern is in style right now…” or “this color is in…”  I just don’t think I will ever understand the importance of such hype.  I just shake my head and thin

I scored both of these major fashion brands inside a thrift store in under an hour so how is that for efficiency?  Who doesn’t love the black & olive combo platter?  Weekend by Max Mara is just your classic standard staple in any woman’s closet and these Jil Sander olive slacks are just what you would expect from Jil Sander; enduring – unfailing – ageless….  After years of being away from being the creative force with the brand that lends her name Jil Sander is back in the drivers seat and ready

Bleu de Chanel cologne for me…

This is just another perk of thrift store shopping because you have no idea what you might find.  Thrifting is all about timing and of course patience.  The magical thing about going to thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales or estate sales is that you have no idea what you might find so finding this new bottle of Bleu de Chanel cologne still in the wrapper is that perk I mentioned!  This bottle retails for $62 and I got it for, well lets just say I handed the lady a 5 dollar bill and got some

Armani & Helmut Lang make an amazing union, and who doesn’t like finding these brands inside a thrift store? I know I can’t think of a single living soul out there either!   This light sky blue short sleeve Armani Collezioni made in Italy top is not only versatile it’s down right practical.  I wish I could have found a navy blue blazer because I would have loved to have paired it up with the Armani top and then found the perfect orange vintage Chloe handbag.  I’m a huge fan of Helmut Lang to beg

Tibi, David Park & Lady Carol dresses….

These 3 lovely dresses are what I walked out of a thrift store with and all 3 are super FAB.  The Tibi pink silk layered dress is sexy and sophisticated, the David Park SKY skin tight dress is always chic and the vintage 70′s Lady Carol dress with the abstract houndstooth print is always STYLISH.  Yes Lady Carol isn’t really a luxe brand but why I salvaged it was because I would put that dress on my client with these faux leather Stella McCartney heels & this Stella McCartney clutch and people w

I swear to you when I saw this vintage 80′s DVF label my eyes looked like the Popping Martian squeeze toy….  I’m loving the old label Diane von Furstenberg Milan * Paris * New York…. LOVE it….  the belt was missing but who gives a rats ass about the belt?  I mean was I just going to skip on it because the belt was AWOL?  No and why should I?  I’ll just slip a new Lanvin belt on it and call it a very good day…  I found this vintage 80′s DVF dress when I was driving home and stopped at the thrift

My partner Mitch gets dragged to a lot of thrift stores and while I’m hunting he usually sits down and plays online poker.  We were at Goodwill and after I  looked at hundreds of dresses, blouses & skirts only found this black short & sexy Tara Jarmon skirt.  I grabbed Mitch and as we were waiting in the checkout line right next to Mitch’s elbow was this wadded up sequined top not even on a hanger.  Mitch grabbed it and said “do you know this label??????”  I died right there… Do I know Ports 196

Dunhill cashmere men’s sweater for ME….

I need to hire someone to follow me around so that when I find Alfred Dunhill cashmere sweaters at the thrift store they can pick up my jaw and lift it up for me…  Doesn’t that sound good?  My heart skipped a beat when I saw this label and another beat when I saw that it is made of 100% cashmere….  First the label: Founded in 1893 by Mr Alfred Dunhill, and originally making motoring accessories, Dunhill has grown into a quintessentially British luxury brand. The menswear collection is characteri

This Rene Lezard & Weekend by Max Mara skirt wins the gold medal at the 2012 ‘Green’ Olympics.  Every time I see Rene Lezard label I get warm and fuzzy inside.  Thomas Schaefer started this company in 1978 and their philosophy is to break new ground, live genuinely with full of conviction and internal strength.  When you see this label at a yard sale, thrift store, estate sale or at some flea market please grab it, you would be doing yourself a great favor.  This brand is all about STYLE.  Pairi

I stopped counting how many times I teared up watching the screening of Versailles ’73last night.  When my ultra STYLISH friend Liz Lapidus invited me to the premiere, I thought I had won the lottery.  I had been hearing a lot of  buzz about this film, a documentary narrated by Cameron Silver and directed by Deborah Riley Draper takes us back to 1973, Paris.   5 American designers were asked to show their collections in Paris that year: Anne Klein, Stephen Burrows, Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta

Labor Day holiday 2012 here I come…..

I work my @%# off everyday, running here and there hunting for discarded luxury designer goods, so I’m taking this Labor Day off and will be back online on Tuesday.  I still am going to hit up the thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales and flea markets because you know I’m an addict.  This long weekend if you are looking for clothing, please take the time to stop by yourlocal thrift store or consignment store and give shopping ‘green’ the opportunity to WOW and WOO you.  If you are searching fo

I’m always excited when I’m thrifting and find treasures for me, it’s like a win-win!  I walked in the thrift store and walked out with a Prada t-shirt & Sandy Dalal long sleeve shirt and I couldn’t be more pleased.  The Prada t-shirt graphics are super cool and remind me of the Olympics or some skiing event.  I don’t even ski but who cares it’s Prada and I haven’t the foggiest clue as to when it was made but again who cares…it’s Prada…  Now the item I’m intrigued by is this gorgeous and incredi
