Here’s an excerpt of an interview I did for

Talk a little about yourself
I’m a menswear designer and illustrator from Brooklyn, New York and I’ve had the pleasure of designing for Levi’s, John Varvatos, Nike, and Fila.
Back in high school, I was originally interested in comic book illustration. Then I found myself paying attention to how I was drawing the clothes and that’s what began my fascination with the
business and honing my skill as a fash
In New York City’s Meatpacking District, you’ll find the home and creative studio of partners in design
and life Steven Cox and Daniel Silver of men’s line Duckie Brown. Somehow, The Fashion Informer managed to wiggle their way into the duo’s abode for an exclusive peek of where their unique menswear comes together and with the designers about their sweet space… (more…)
We had the pleasure of bringing you inside this year’s (Capsule) show in New York and to round up what we captured, we’d like to present you with this little video. The Best of (Capsule) highlights all the wonderful designers we had a chance to meet and while there were just too darn many to chat with them all, we got a nice taste of the best designers there. Click play now to see who and what we ran into at the menswear trade show.
With continuing to capture footage for our ongoing (Capsule) video series, we ran into the smart, stylish, and if we may say so, lovely owner of Brooklyn boutique Bird, Ms. Jen Mankins. While shopping for new looks for her beloved store, Mankins paused a bit to give us her take on the Spring/Summer 2011 trends, her favorite designers, and what she looksfor when selecting menswear for her racks. Click play to hear what this buyer had to say.
Remember those old Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes commercials where the sainted Ed McMahon’s prize crew would deliver over sized checks to ecstatic, unsuspecting winners? Well, what if that unsuspecting winner was a fashion designer and instead of Ed McMahon, it was the editorial staff of GQ dropping off the money? We may have found the closest thing possible today with this new video published on the GQ Eye blog.
While big name designers continue to show collections this week in Milan, there is another set of men’s fashion designers to watch out for come fall. The British Fashion Council announced this week the top London-based emerging designers sponsored by NEWGEN MEN. The recipients not only have the chance to show their Spring 2011 collection at London Fashion Week in September, each designer also receives £5,000 – £10,000 to cover show costs al
Another Graduate Fashion Week has sped by, and we’re sad to have to wait another 365-ish days for the next crop of UK student talent. To cope with our melancholy, we’re reveling in our favorite finalist collections and the trends that might just catch on past the student runways.
Designers, what if instead of navigating a minefield of venture capitalists and other funding schemes, you could turn to fans and the very same people who love and would by your work to back your vision? Well, take a lesson from Katie Eary, the UK-based designer who used the help of Catwalk
Genuis, a platform that allows the public to buy shares of a brand, to launch her first womenswear collection. (more…)
Just as we promised, we’re keeping on top of the best and, um, most interesting trends at London’s Graduate Fashion Week. Take a look after the jump for these hot, fresh, and often bizarre styles.
Newsflash: Your childhood kaleidoscope has resurrected from the crawlspace shaped like a sweater—but don’t be scared. Geometric shapes hit the catwalk, and—when they worked—we squealed like schoo

Really like the colors found in this bow tie. And playing around with layering thermals under shorts. I’ll push this idea more – LATER ON,but right now getting ready to head to Manhattan. Gotta get away fromthis desk! LOL. Enjoy!
Menswear, with math and simplicity, keeping it bold, eccentric and damn cool. Ladies clothes that are frail, soft and break the rules. With both, the classics are always bullet proof and completely a hit. These are trends that are not forgotten.
