On July23rd 2011 one of the most talented and gifted artists of our time tragically  passed away at the age of only 27:              Amy Winehouse .

Although one could tell that this would happen one day I was really shocked and felt unutterable sad when I heard the news.

Today, the usually frivolous chatter of the fashion world was silenced by the announcement that Yves Saint Laurent has died in Paris, aged 71.YSL exploded onto the fashion scene in 1958 as Christian Dior’s successor and dominated both prêt a porter and couture for the latter half of the twentieth century. His influence: immense. YSL changed the way women dressed; creating pant suits and trench coats and of course the iconic “Le smoking” tuxedo jacket. He made high fasion accessible to the masses
