I’m always so happy to add another Scott Barrie into my collection for DOUBLETAKE - my high end consignment store in Atlanta. Scott Barrie isn’t one of those names that everyone that walks intoDOUBLETAKE recognizes unfortunately but he was a big fashion designer back in the 60s & 70s. He was one of the first African-American designers to earn fame in internationally fashion. He was over the top huge back in the day, he was in the same category as Stephen Burrows and Willi Smith.
This emerald green Halston IV disco party dress with the elastic waistband and neckline just leaves me speechless…. The domain sleeves are just gorgeous and I can easily close my eyes and see the likes of Jerry Hall or Liza Minnelli working this dress on the dance floor back in the day… Halston was an iconic clothing designer of the 1970s. His sexy, yet elegant dresses became a staple in American discos and on every NYC socialite. He will always be considered one of America’s finest fashion
Lilli Ann.
I love finding labels I haven’t blogged about and today’s blog post is about Lilli Ann. This brand was created in 1933 in San Franciso and was named after Adolph Schuman’s wife Lilli Ann. This brand quickly grew in popularity and became known for their beautiful, elaborated suits & coats. Lilli Ann became known as the brand as the provider of elegance and high fashion wool suit
