  • More than 40,000 U.S. manufacturing plants closed their doors in 2008 alone
  • Only about 11 million people still make things in the US wh

Eco-friendly Dye Technology Makes it to Asia

This week members of the AirDye® team will embark on an Asian tour, stopping in 11 cities in three countries. Vice President of Textiles Bonnie Julian, Director of Design Philip Hess, and Chief Sustainability and Marketing Officer Paul Raybin are traveling abroad to work with new licensees and introduce AirDye® technology to global brands.

In Japan, the AirDye team will be working with new licensees Debs Corporation and Komatsu Seirento deploy AirDye technology in Asia and supply products globall

AirDye on the runway in NY

AirDye was used to create 19 of the 28 dresses in Costello Tagliapietra’s Spring/Summer Collection that was on the runway at New York’s Fashion Week kick off yesterday.

For the third season in a row, Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra chose AirDye® technology to bring their fashion vision to life. The show, which debuted during this weekend’s Spring/Summer 2011 New York Fashion Week at the Milk Studios, featured 28 pieces, 20 of which used AirDye.

Will an Eco-Fashionista Win Project Runway Again?

The eighth season of Project Runway has just gotten underway. Making some waves this go around is Gretchen Jones, a green clothing designer from Portland, Oregon.

You may recall that back in season five, eco-fashionista Leanne Marshall was crowned queen of the catwalk. After the show, Leanne has continued to work as a eco-fashion designers. From what we could find, Leanne's making handmade dresses and selling them on
Etsy, but her garments haven't exactly changed the fashion world.
