Spring (526)

A model taking a short break Our buyer, Jennifer is attending Paris Fashion Week and purchasing designer fashions for the spring 2012 season. She has been sending us tidbits and photos from Paris. It has been fun to see what is happening in Paris and being on the front for 2012 spring styles. There are thousands of buyers looking at collections and the models only get a few minutes of outside air on a 30C (90F) plus fall day. This model looks amazing even under hot temperatures and a non-stop day.

So what will we be seeing

-Never Mind-

That's So New YorkDespite the fact that I currently have an interview with Finnish designer, Daniel Palillo in my mitts waiting for me to press that publish button, I feel that it may have seemed a little odd if I had posted an interview with a designer before introducing you all to that said designer. The reason behind my decision is primarily due to the fact that Daniel Palillo is still what you may consider to be anacquired taste when it comes to the wear ability of a number of his garment

Elizabeth Lau / Spring/Summer 2012

That's So New York - As Elizabeth Lau begins gearing herself up in preparation for the showing of her Spring/Summer 2012 look book video tomorrow (18/09/2011) in London Fashion Week's very own cinema, it seems she got a little too excited and was kind enough to share a premiere of the video via her Facebook page this morning. I can confidentially say that this is certainly yet another promised success for Elizabeth and might have just ... (CONTINUE READING)

Designer / Daniel Palillo

That's So New York - Those of you who follow my Facebook page may recall me mentioning an upcoming interview with Finnish designer, Daniel Palillo; despite the fact that it has taken me more than a respectable amount of time to jot everything up, I do finally have the interview ready for a read. The answers are a tad short, yet Daniel explained at the very beginning of the interview "We in Finland don't talk that much", therefore i'll let him off, as the answers he provided me with were more tha

Cheap Monday; 'Cheap Date' (Re-Blogged)

That's So New YorkI have Susie Bubble (Susanna Lau) of Style Bubble to thank for this post, primarily due to the fact that the majority of you may recall Susie sharing a post titled Cheap Date earlier this week; that of which presented an interview which Susie held with Cheap Monday's Creative Director, Ann Sofie-Back and Orjan Andersson, where she questioned the aesthetic behind their Spring/Summer 2012 show/collection (don't worry, I haven't completely forgotten Fall/Winter 2011; rest assur

'Two Planets' by Maria Lau

That's So New YorkSince my Ax+Apple post around two weeks ago, my admiration for jewelry has heightened; I mean, the search for admirable jewelry designers has even managed to snatch itself a place on my "to do" list. Although I usually tend to hunt for the international among the local, recently I've come across a designer who is both local and international, meaning that the her London location would be considered local (seeming that London central is around forty/fifty minutes from me) yet

That's So New York - I've been feeling a little like a fashion scout over the course of the past two or three weeks; simply because I seem to keep stumbling across designer after designer, that of which have frequently left me pondering something along the lines of "why on earth has this label still not had its big break?" as it seems that even though I've been graced with an unthinkable amount of talent whilst flicking through a number of stores and designer profiles, it is not unusual to see t

'I Love Ugly' By Valentin Ozich

That's So New YorkDespite the fact that it may seem like I spend my days sitting here searching through a ridiculous amount of online-stores and designer profiles in an attempt to find a brand which I could happily label "the next big thing" (and I won't deny that yes, a huge percentage of my week, month and year has been taken up by this activity alone), I seem to be constantly posting about Women's and Unisex labels, in addition to a topic which I've shied away from yet can relate to the mo

That's So New York - I'll put my hands up and admit that I have indeed been sat indoors for a relentless amount of time so far this Summer, in-fact, I'm not even sure if I could tell you the last time I ventured out to the town centre or for a meal with friends, or perhaps even simply to attend a small get together or garden party, either way, you've probably gathered that I'm quite the couch potato, yet when you're living in a small village in England, United Kingdom and have woken to the sound

The making of Vivrant Magazine’s first issue was an amazing challenge. The idea and concept of the Vivrant brand and the Vivrant woman is still being developed, but I quickly realized that it was more than a project or a job. The magazine brings the reader a focused voice of fashion with an insider’s appeal. The rich fashion perspective allows our sophisticated reader to discover her own style and still enjoy the trends as they emerge in a timely fashion. We offer a sneak peek into the inner wor

That's So New YorkIn addition to my growing obsession with various vintage-type styles, such as the classic military look (which is for another post entirely) followed by my recent admiralty for Buffalo Sweaters, accompanied by one of my oldest favorable trends which leans towards pretty much anything pleated, I have recently began geek-ing out on my laptop for hours on end as I flick through and research pretty much anything related to Japanese fashion. Previously, I thought that Japanese fa

That sound you just heard was the sound of my DVF wrap dress cherry popping.  You got it right after 28 years of being a serial thrifter it is my distinct honor to say to you today that this is my very 1st DVF wrap dress I’ve ever found in a thrift store.  I have been very lucky to find DVF pieces here and there but never the iconic wrap dress.  I mean I know woman that still have their original ones from the 70′s!  Women just don’t give these babies up without a fight.  This iconic wrap dress w
