How to source the right fabric

What can apparel labels tell us?

Nothing really.
This label says 97% cotton/ 3% spandex. This is the content of the fibers. This could be for anything from a t-shirt to jeans. Below are 5 other key ingredients not listed on the label to get the fabric you want. This information should be listed on your technical design packet.

I recently shopped in Burberry and swanned around in bone and porcelain coloured trench coats. I pranced about like a giddy gazelle in liquid foundation shades of sand and beige.

Smitten with Mittens

The big British chill persists and whilst nobody wants frosty fingers I am seriously smitten with fingerless gloves. There's something a little Varsity about clutching a hot, frothy mocha with frosty exhales in a knitted ensemble. My favourites are stripey, cable knit and of course purr-worthy cashmere.
