Leifsdottir sexy blouse….

To start every post I always Google and try to learn as much as I can, I told you I love to do my research, so I was reading an article from Feb 4, 2011 from the New York Times about Leifsdottir.  Leifsdottir, a Scandinavian inspired brand sold at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus & Bloomingdale’s that is achieving a kind of stealth success with trendsetters and shoppers alike.  So I Googles each one of those luxury department stores and checked to see if they sold Leifsdottir and they don’t.  So given that the article was written in Feb 2011 from the NYTimes they have moved on.  This blouse would have retailed for $300 and up at any of those 3 major luxury stores but since Johanna Uurasjarvi the designer behind the label has been Anthropology’s creative director for several years they have given her a chance to create her dream collections. So sure enough when you check out Anthropologie’s website you’ll see Leifsdottir’s collection.  I wonder to myself how can a designer that was once sold in Bergdorf Goodman (The GOD of retail) leave and create for Anthropologie?  Not trying to sound snobby here but listen I’m an artist first and foremost so I’m just not understanding this move… It would be like me getting into Gagosian Gallery in NYC and leaving it for some mall gallery.  I know there’s more to this story but look at the time….  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter….toodles for now.  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
