Kristina Villarini: bloggers add a sense of realism

“Fashion blogs are important, but they're not replacing the fashion journalists. Bloggers tend to be regular people who have more of a finger on the pulse of society than fashion journalists. In my experience, a lot of people in fashion take themselves incredibly seriously and are very self-important. The tendency to judge and ultimately, the need to predict what's hot in fashion really keeps some fashion writers from seeing the boutiques and accessories that are expanding and limits from the streets, where fashion lives. Clothes are for everyone, so while posting a spread with every piece of jewelry Hermes ever made is awe-inspiring and drool-worthy, it's hard to imagine any “average” individual attaining that kind of luxury item. Bloggers add a sense of realism to the “all-glamour, all-of-the-time”. That`s all”, - Kristina Villarini, writer, http://www.kristinavillarini.com/, USA, for FotyMody.
