Hollywood Take recently caught up with Kaitlyn and Shawn at Jeep’s “Moustache Mod Garage,” an event supporting the Movember Foundation. And the adorable Bachelorette couple made it clear they're not in a rush.
“Every time I think about wedding planning, I start getting overwhelmed because we’re so busy,” Kaitlyn told Hollywood Take. “We have no time. Everyone just assumes since we’re engaged, so next we’ll get married. Once we get married, everyone will ask when we’re having kids. It’s just one of those things that people are going to continue to ask.”

And don’t expect them to change their minds anytime soon. “I don’t think much is going to change for us either [in terms of wedding planning],” Shawn told us. “We’re enjoying being engaged. A lot of people forget that we got engaged after only knowing each other for 12 weeks.”
The couple admitted things were a bit tough after the show. “There were articles calling him ‘Shady Shawn,’” said Kaitlyn. “Even though you know it’s stupid and not true, it’s still hard.”
The rumors were tough for Shawn to handle, too. “Every Bachelor couple that comes out of the series, there’s going to be negative press surrounding them because the track record shows they’ll end up breaking up,” he said. “So there’s always these rumors. Once you’ve proved to everybody that you’re the real deal in like six months. Then it starts to die down.”
Luckily their families are in no rush for them to say “I do” either. “Our families are the best,” said Shawn. “They more than anybody want us to take our time. There’s no pressure at all.”
But if you think that spells splitsville you’re wrong. Kaitlyn promised a wedding “will happen” and said they have no doubts about becoming husband and wife. “It’s not a matter of if we’re going to get married,” she added. “It’s just the fact that we’re engaged, we’re terrible at planning, we’re really busy and it will happen when it happens. We don’t have any doubts.”
It was hard not to believe them as the two gushed about each other at the event. “Other than his handsome good looks,” joked Kaitlyn. “I think he’s one of the most loyal people I’ve ever met, to his family, to his dog, to me.” Shawn quipped, “Besides the fact that she’s absolutely gorgeous and hilarious, I love that she doesn’t take herself too seriously and knows how to have fun in any situation. It makes spending time with her so much better.”
Kaitlyn continued gushing saying, “We are two peas in a pod. We are the weirdest people on the planet. We are each other’s biggest fans. We think we’re hilarious. We were just away from each other for two days, and I genuinely really missed him and we spend every second together. So that’s a good sign.”
And they have started discussing some wedding details. “He always makes fun of me because I say I want a ‘bohemian’ wedding,” Kaitlyn revealed. “I think it just means I want to wear a flower crown and have bare feet. I do look on Pinterest at wedding evening gowns uk. But that’s as far as my wedding planning has gone.” Shawn added, “We’re thinking the fall for our wedding.” Kaitlyn agreed saying, “Definitely fall and within the next two years.”
